How many sessions do I need?

Each person is unique and will require a different number of sessions based on their goals and presenting concerns. Some people prefer to have a handful of sessions and then re-evaluate their symptoms. Others prefer to work with their therapist for a prolonged period, even after they have reached their goals. This includes occasional check-ins, monthly meetings, phone sessions, etc. There is no right or wrong number of sessions; however, it is important to be mindful that change takes time, and new habits are not built overnight. 

I have a preferred name, but I would like my invoices to include my legal name for insurance purposes. Is that possible?

Absolutely! Inform your therapist of the correct spelling of your legal name when getting started and all of your invoices can be updated to reflect this information.

I prefer to meet with my therapist in the evenings at 6pm every other week. How can I ensure I get this time slot?

Schedules fill up quickly and your therapist may not be able to accommodate your request each week. However, booking in advance gaurantees the liklihood of you getting your desired time. If you no longer require a session booked in advance, notify your therapist within 24-48 hours prior to the session to cancel and/or reschedule. 

Why is 48 hours of notice required for in-person sessions, but only 24 hours of notice for online sessions?

Currently, our office is a dedicated co-working space. This means that we share the rooms with other clinicians in private practice. Given the need for other clinicians to use the co-working space on short notice, 48 hours is required to cancel and/or reschedule.

OWL Practice Video doesn't work well with my computer, is there any other way to attend virtual sessions?

Yes, in the event that your computer does not support OWL Video, inform your therapist. They may provide you with private links to alternative video conferencing platforms (e.g., PsychologyToday, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
